Celebrate Halloween with a great day out at the home of Peppa Pig

PULLING off a fourth birthday this year for our youngest, Jessica, was always going to be hard.

But Paultons Park was a pleasantly “normal” day out — or as normal as can be with Mr Skinnylegs and the other characters from the world of Peppa Pig.

Peppa Pig and George welcome guests to a Halloween themed Paultons Park

Going the distance on social distancing and cleanliness, this New Forest attraction is a great way to celebrate all things spooky in a year of no trick-or-treating.

You mask up for queues and some rides, and screens and marked spacing help. Staff clean benches when vacated.

Restricted visitor numbers mean short queues and we ticked off Miss Rabbit’s Helicopter, Daddy Pig’s Car Ride and George’s Dinosaur Adventure before the first toilet-and-drink stop.

The Queen’s Flying Coach ride was Jess’s pick of the nine Peppa rides, but she also loved meeting Peppa dressed as a witch, for a socially distanced photo.

Our boys Jamie, 15, and Joshua, seven, got their thrills on Paultons’ bigger rides.

But on Flight Of The Pterosaur and Velociraptor, we regretted the earlier hotdogs.

Paultons’ play areas and grounds are also a joy, and a place to regain land legs after the rides.

Creepy fun continues with late-night openings this Tuesday and Thursday until 7:30pm.
