American Airlines has launched a new offer to buy AAdvantage miles with an up to 100% bonus through August 31, 2020.
The number of miles a member can buy before any bonuses are capped at 150,000 per calendar year, and the account that purchases or receives the miles must have been open for a minimum of 30 days.

The price of a mile purchased under this offer at the 150,000 miles level is 1.84 US cents each. The lowest previous price that American has sold its miles was last month 1.6 US cents each.
Conclusion
American Airlines sells its AAdvantage miles at a discount monthly, and the price offered now is higher than earlier this year. I would wait until better offer surfaces unless you need some AAdvantage miles now.
