Marriott announced last week (read more here) that it would require employees and guests to wear a face mask in the United States and Canada effective this Monday.
Now, the hotel company has quietly expanded this requirement to all hotels in North America, the Caribbean, and Latin America.

To promote the health and safety of our communities, face coverings are required for guests and associates in all indoor public areas in North America, the Caribbean and Latin America.

I do believe that this is a sensible policy considering the current situation with the Covid-19 in the Americas. We should all do what we reasonably can, such as wearing a face mask, to slow the spread of the virus.
