CORNWALL’s tourism boss has told hotels and holiday sites to cancel guest bookings if they come from high risk areas.
Visit Cornwall’s Malcom Bell made the comments following the plans by Wales to stop incoming tourists from similar areas.

Tier 3, which is deemed “high risk” currently includes Liverpool and Lancashire, with plans for Greater Manchester to follow suit.
If living in a tier 3 area, all non-essential travel is advised against, as well as leaving the area.
Mr Bell explained that people were still concerned, despite the UK government advising against leaving high risk zones.
He said to Cornwall Live: “Visit Cornwall are building a spreadsheet of postcodes in the very high risk areas to help accommodation businesses to be able to contact customers to cancel their holidays or rebook for next year.”
However, he also questioned how easy it would be to mandate, adding: “That is why we are helping all accommodation providers with the details of the zones and informing them that they must decline booking and contact customers from these areas.”

This means anyone currently in tier 3 areas may face holiday cancellations or be forced to move their holidays.
First Minister Mark Drakeford also said holiday providers in Wales should not accept half-term bookings from people in areas of the UK with high levels of coronavirus.
Asked about existing bookings, he told BBC Breakfast: “I’m afraid those bookings will no longer be able to be honoured.
“It’s why we’re taking this action now to give people a good period of time to understand that, if you did book a holiday in those parts of Wales, I’m afraid that holiday will now no longer be able to take place.”
Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon backed the border ban and signalled she could impose similar measures within days.
