Air Canada Aeroplan New Airline Partner: Azul

Air Canada has a new partner effective today in Brazil for earning and redeeming Aeroplan miles (no fuel surcharges on awards).

Aeroplan members can earn redeemable miles (not Altitude qualifying) on flights operated by Azul.

You can access Aeroplan’s page for partners here.

Conclusion

Azul already has United, Turkish Airlines, Copa, and TAP as its frequent flyer program partners, and now also Air Canada.

Perhaps it would be the right time for Azul to join the Star Alliance (especially after Avianca Brasil collapsed last year)?

Having a partner in Brazil helps Air Canada to provide connectivity for its flights and allows Aeroplan members to redeem and earn miles for Azul flights (mostly intra-Brazil).
