Cheap UK Xmas market holidays this winter

A HOLIDAY abroad this year is out of the question for many families due to the travel restrictions and risks of quarantining.

Instead, many Brits are looking ahead to a holiday this Christmas while in the UK, and thankfully there are already some cheap deals on sale.

You can book a Christmas hotel stay in the UK this year for less than £35 a night each - and some even include breakfast or afternoon tea

Christmas markets are expected to open again this year, although may enforce reduced capacity and pre-bookings for attractions and shows.

Some attractions have been cancelled already – Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland will not be going ahead this year.

However, you can still book a festive hotel stay in UK cities such as London, Edinburgh and Manchester, all of which will have Christmas activities and events on show.

For example, Harrods and Oxford Street are popular with tourists thanks to their outlandish window displays themed around the holiday season, while Christmas shopping can be done at Edinburgh markets.

Here are some of the best deals with Wowcher you can currently book from just £69 per room this Christmas, which include a hotel stay as well as some additional extras such as a bottle of wine in your room or an afternoon tea.

  • One night at mystery Manchester hotel with breakfast – from £69
  • One night at 4* Park Grand Hyde Park in London with breakfast, prosecco and 1pm late checkout – from £79
  • One night at Brooks Hotel in Edinburgh with afternoon tea, prosecco and late check out – from £89
  • One night at 5* The Marble Arch London by Montcalm in London with breakfast, spa access and 1pm late check out – from £149

Many hotels are offering free upgrades or additional extras to attempt to lure Brits to book holidays.

However, families are even booking 2021 holidays already as prices jump due to demand.

UK holiday parks and staycation destinations are already seeing an increase in bookings.

Charles Millward, the owner of Staycation Holidays, told The Times: “People should be worried about finding availability next year, a lot of dates are already taken because they will have been moved from this year – one of our properties only has three weekends free next year from March til September.
